E-mail forwarder
This chapter provides information about the e-mail forwarder function, which allows you to submit documents directly to your d.velop postbox account by e-mail.
Setting up the e-mail forwarder
You can save e-mail attachments directly to your postbox account. After the activation, you will receive a personal e-mail address for using the function. Upon activation of this function, you will receive a randomly generated e-mail address each time. Please keep this e-mail address confidential and do not share it with anyone else.
You can only complete this process in a web browser, and not using the app.
This is how it works
Click on the gear wheel icon and select Account.
Select e-mail forwarder. Alternatively, call up the page https://postbox.d-velop.de/emailinbound.

Activate the checkbox if you agree to the terms and conditions of this function. Do not activate the checkbox if you don’t agree to the terms and conditions. In this case, you can’t use the function.
Click on Create e-mail address.

Deactivating the e-mail forwarder
You can deactivate the e-mail forwarder in your account settings if you no longer wish to use this function or if you need a new, random e-mail address.
You can only complete this process in a web browser, and not using the app.
This is how it works
Click on the gear wheel icon and select Account.
Select e-mail forwarder. Alternatively, call up the page https://postbox.d-velop.de/emailinbound.
Click on Delete personal e-mail address.
Warning
Your e-mail address will be deactivated immediately and can no longer be used to receive documents. You cannot undo this change, and your e-mail address cannot be restored.
Using the e-mail forwarder
You can send documents directly to your account by e-mail. When using the e-mail forwarder and document import, please note the information about restrictions.
This is how it works
Retrieve your e-mail address for e-mail forwarder. You can find the e-mail address in your account settings under the gear wheel icon menu in the section labelled Account > E-mail forwarder. Alternatively, you can also call up the page https://postbox.d-velop.de/emailinbound.
Copy the e-mail address which is displayed. Further information on the activation: Setting up the e-mail forwarder
Open your e-mail program and attach the document.
As the e-mail recipient, enter the personal e-mail address for the e-mail forwarder from step 2.
Send the e-mail.
The documents attached to your e-mail will be stored in your d.velop postbox account. The documents will be saved in the folder My documents > Inbox > E-mail attachments.
Warning
Make sure that you keep the e-mail address for the e-mail forwarder confidential, and do not share the e-mail address with anyone else. Anyone who knows your personal e-mail address can send documents to your account without permission.
Documents storage location
Documents that have been sent to your account by e-mail are saved in the folder My documents > Inbox > E-mail attachments. With the use of folder tags, you can change the default storage location for documents. More information: Using folder tags
Restrictions with the e-mail forwarder
If you use the e-mail forwarder function to save documents in your account, please note the following restrictions:
Only documents that are attached to the e-mail will be processed and imported. Inline documents in e-mails cannot be imported.
The entire e-mail must not exceed 20 MB.
If you don’t use any folder tags, documents are always saved in the folder My Documents > Inbox > E-mail attachments.
You can only assign one folder tag per e-mail.
Anyone who knows your personal e-mail address can send documents to your account.
Creating folder tags
You can use folder tags to save documents directly into a different folder during the import process. Please also note the information on Using folder tags.
This is how it works
Click on the gear wheel icon and select Account.
Select e-mail forwarder. Alternatively, call up the page https://postbox.d-velop.de/emailinbound.
In the Folder tags section, click Create tag.
Select the destination folder
Enter the name of the folder tag.
Click on Save.
On this page, you can see all the folder tags you have created as well as the target folders. If necessary, you can edit or delete folder tags. More information:
Using folder tags
With the use of folder tags, you can automatically save documents to different folders than the default storage location during the import process.
This is how it works

Open your e-mail program and attach the document.
As the e-mail recipient, enter the e-mail address for the e-mail forwarder.
In the subject line, start by entering your previously defined folder tag. More information about creating folder tags: Creating folder tags
Send the e-mail.
Note
Please also take note of the following:
The folder tag must start with a hash symbol (#) in the e-mail subject line, and must not contain any blank spaces.
Only the first tag is evaluated in each e-mail subject line.
Editing folder tags
You can edit folder tags so that documents can be imported into a different folder, for example.
This is how it works
Click on the gear wheel icon and select Account.
Select e-mail forwarder. Alternatively, call up the page https://postbox.d-velop.de/emailinbound.
In the Folder tags section, search for the folder tag that you would like to edit, and click Edit > Edit.
Make the necessary changes. Select a different target folder, for example, or edit the name of the folder tag.
Click on Save.
Your custom folder tag will be displayed in the Folder tags section. You can use the edited folder tag immediately.
Deleting folder tags
You can delete folder tags if you no longer need them.
This is how it works
Click on the gear wheel icon and select Account.
Select e-mail forwarder. Alternatively, call up the page https://postbox.d-velop.de/emailinbound.
In the Folder tags section, search for the folder tag that you would like to delete, and click Edit > Delete.
Activate the option Yes, delete this tag.
Click on Delete.
Your folder tag will be deleted immediately and will no longer be usable. You can create a new folder tag at any time if required.
