Release and update process
Announcements of updates can be found in the d.velop service portal in the section Software > Roadmap.
Update categories
Updates are divided into two categories:
Major updates
Minor updates
Major updates
Major updates include significant functional and interface changes. Also included in this category are changes that require modifications to the SharePoint structure.
Minor updates
Smaller updates are grouped in the minor updates category. These include bug fixes, closing of security gaps, and minor functional and interface changes.
Publication of updates
Features and customizations that are delivered by major updates can be activated manually in advance. Customers are given the opportunity to test these features and changes for a period of 4 weeks before the functions are automatically activated. To see if a new feature is scheduled for automatic release, see the release notes.
Updates are installed during a defined maintenance window. In doing so, we make sure that dates are chosen when there is as little user activity as possible. This does not apply to updates that are necessary to close serious security gaps.
Announcements (release notes)
A list of changes (release notes) can be found in the d.velop service portal at Software > Roadmap > d.velop for Microsoft 365.
If interventions by the customer or a service provider are necessary (e.g. configuration changes, changes to the SharePoint structure), this will be communicated separately in the d.velop service portal. In addition, you can specify a contact person (on your part) to d.velop who will be proactively notified by e-mail in such cases. The appointment of the contact person can be done via the d.velop support.
