Release Current Q2.2026: The Highlights at a Glance

Release Notes, Releases & Updates, Release Notes, release notes·June 2, 2026

With the Current Release Q2.2026, we continue our ongoing product development efforts. Over the past months, a particular focus has been placed on optimizing existing functionalities as well as on technical enhancements that lay the foundation for future innovations.

At the same time, preparations for the d.velop SUMMIT 2026 are underway. At the Experience Hub, we will provide insights into current developments and future topics related to the d.velop platform. Further information about the event is available at https://summit.d-velop.de/.

The current release also includes a number of important enhancements. These include extensions to d.velop process studio, new capabilities in d.velop forms, improvements to task management, as well as various technical and administrative optimizations.

In addition, we would like to draw your attention to the current Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Document Management 2026. d.velop is among the 16 vendors represented worldwide. The full report is available exclusively in English.

Highlights of the Current Release Q2.2026

Routines in d.velop process studio

Routines in d.velop process studio

With the new routines in d.velop process studio, recurring process steps can now be defined centrally and reused multiple times. This enables faster process modeling, simplifies maintenance, and helps ensure consistent implementation across the organization. More information in the may release article.

Change History for Components

Changes made to components are now documented in a traceable manner. This provides greater transparency during process development and facilitates collaboration between business departments and developers. More information in the may release article.

Involving External Participants in Processes

Process workflows can now include external participants. This makes it easier to digitize cross-company processes and avoid media disruptions. More information in the may release article.

Making Forms More Flexible

New “Link Card” Component

The new “Link Card” component allows important forms, applications, or external content to be prominently displayed within a form. The card can be configured individually and selectively made available to specific users or groups.

Centralized Translation Management

The form editor now provides centralized translation management. Form content can be maintained in multiple languages, imported, and automatically translated using d.velop Pilot. This significantly simplifies the deployment of forms used internationally.

Improvements to Scripting

Enhanced Autocompletion

The script editor now supports autocompletion for request and response objects. This simplifies development and reduces the effort required when creating scripts.

New Helper Functions

Additional methods (currentUser()) provide easier access to user information, system parameters, and authentication sessions. This enables custom extensions to be implemented more quickly and efficiently.

Scripts can now retrieve the system base URI via req.systemBaseUri().

The request object in user scripts has been extended with the authSessionId() function, which allows retrieval of the current authentication session ID.

Improved Error Handling

Using res.problemJson(), scripts can now return structured error messages. This simplifies error analysis and improves integration with other applications.

Improvements in Task Management

Multi-Level Sorting for Tasks

Task lists can now be sorted by multiple criteria simultaneously. This makes it easier to find relevant tasks and better supports individual working methods.

Expanded Customization Options

Custom applications can now provide actions for multiple tasks at the same time. This allows recurring work steps to be executed more efficiently and automated to a greater extent.

Optimized Layout Management

The layout management interface now displays only the layouts that are actually available in task management. This improves clarity and simplifies administration.

Extended API Capabilities

The Search API now supports searching for tasks by their ID. In addition, task forwarding is now available as a Public API. This further expands integration and automation scenarios.

Technical / Administrative

  • Administrators can now modify sandbox properties for embedded external forms.
  • The Dynamic Link Library (DLL) required for Windows authentication via Security Support Provider Interface (SSPI) for Microsoft SQL Server is now included.

API Enhancements

  • Using the Task Search API, tasks can now also be searched by ID.
  • Task forwarding is now available as a Public API.

More Convenience in d.velop records management

Closing Multiple Dossiers Simultaneously

In d.velop records management, multiple dossiers can now be closed in a single step using a dossier closure order. The familiar process remains unchanged, while administrative effort is significantly reduced, particularly for larger dossier inventories.

Note: The German term z.d.A.-verfügen is translated as dossier closure order, meaning the formal closure of a dossier/file.

Faster Application of Stamps Using Keyboard Shortcuts

In the d.velop documents viewer, stamps can now be applied more quickly through keyboard shortcuts. Users can assign individual shortcuts to specific stamps via the Manage Stamp Templates function.

Optimizations in Incoming Mail Processing

The d.velop mail dispatcher has also been further enhanced during this quarter. The focus was particularly on the following areas:

  • Extended quick actions for faster and more flexible distribution of incoming mail documents
  • Improved task qualification through additional metadata and enhanced assignment options
  • Optimized document preview for better performance and an improved user experience
  • New configuration options for customizing workflows

These enhancements help users distribute incoming documents more efficiently, structure tasks more effectively, and reduce processing times.

A detailed overview of all new features and functionalities can be found in our comprehensive d.velop mail dispatcher article.

Additional Technical and Administrative Enhancements

Numerous improvements have also been implemented behind the scenes:

  • Messaging API v2.0 now supports sending notifications and establishes the foundation for additional automation and communication scenarios.
    • New administrative interfaces simplify the management of messaging functions.
  • The Dashboard app has been integrated with d.ecs monitor.
  • The Theming app now delivers the standard theme based on Material Design 3, laying the groundwork for future user interface modernization.
  • NATS can now be centrally monitored through d.ecs monitor.
  • Groups can now be organized more flexibly and reordered within d.ecs monitor.
  • The last used authentication provider can now be stored, simplifying recurring logins.
  • The selection of a delegate during absences can now be disabled.
  • Delegate administration can now be delegated through a dedicated authorization group.
  • Current versions of DataAeonia and Procilon are now supported in Storage Manager.
