Welcome to the 2025 Annual!

The 2025 Annual brings together targeted improvements and optimizes existing functions so that you can work even more efficiently and conveniently. Many of these functions will already be available in the quarterly updates (Current releases).

Downloading or updating software has never been easier!

Thanks to the standardization and improvement of our release process, it is now much easier for you to get our software: We rely on central management via d.velop software manager. This allows you to easily keep your software up to date and benefit more quickly from new features and improvements.

Successful IDW PS 880 validation

d.velop documents has once again been successfully validated according to IDW PS 880.

New operating concept now standard

The new operating concept includes improvements in the way users navigate in d.velop documents and how information is displayed. The improvements were designed based on surveys and feedback from users.

We will activate the new operating concept as standard on March 1, 2025 (Cloud and Current Channel) and on June 4, 2025 (Annual Channel).

New dashboard

The dashboard has been redesigned and you can now share dashboard templates with other users.

Improved user guidance in the new operating concept

Thanks to the new operating concept, you can work even more efficiently:

  • Dossier covers: You can open dossier covers directly.
  • Preview and details: You can open the preview and details of documents from the search results more quickly.
  • Links: The display of links has been improved. There are also new link options (document to dossier, dossier to dossier, document to document).

User experience

The user experience has been enhanced and improved in many ways:

  • Copying links: Copying links to items and result lists has been standardized. In addition, you can easily copy links to documents, dossiers, or result lists using the context action Copy to clipboard.

  • Improved notes: The size of the input field for notes adapts dynamically to the content.

Import

The import functions have been expanded and improved:

Collaboration and view

The display has been improved and collaboration now works even better:

  • Local edit: Local editing has been improved.
  • Setup: The setup has been completely redesigned. This allows your administration to take over update management for you.
  • Automatic updates: You can disable automatic software updates if required.
  • File names: File names containing unauthorized characters are handled so that the file names can be used in Windows. In addition, the same file names are used for downloading as in d.velop documents.
  • Language selection in the settings: You can now change the language in the settings dialog.
  • Integrated browser: The integrated browser has been changed from Chromium to Microsoft Edge.
  • "Start with Windows" option: The Start with Windows option has been moved from the context menu to the options dialog.
  • Notes: When a person has edited a note, the person's profile picture is displayed (if available).
  • Export: PDF compression is available during export.

Dashboard

The dashboard is now even more intuitive and offers additional benefits:

  • 9-dot menu: You can switch to other features more easily with the 9-dot menu. You can also mark frequently used features as favorites.
  • Shortcut widgets: You can create shortcut widgets using the Dashboard app.

Search and storage

The search and storage functions have been improved and extended:

  • Saved processes and templates: In the Personal space feature, the titles of the Saved search operations and Saved storage templates tabs have been shortened to Search operations and Storage templates. This change only applies to the new operating concept.
  • Filtering in the “d.3 Repositories” feature: When you create new connections to a d.3 repository, you can use Visible to to filter by group ID.

Working with tasks and processes is now even easier:

Mobile devices

Since June 20, 2024, d.velop mobile has been using a new interface for delivering push notifications. If you have not already done so, please update d.velop mobile.

Integrations

The previous d.3one integration in Microsoft Outlook cannot be used for the new Outlook. d.velop offers a new integration for the new Outlook.

Repositories

Repository management has been improved:

  • Filtering log files: You can filter the log files. This makes searching for personal data even easier.
  • "d.3 Repositories" feature: The d.3 Repositories feature for setting up repositories is now part of the configuration.

Infrastructure

You can now manage your infrastructure with even greater ease:

  • Login on new devices: You can now optionally specify that logins on new devices or with new browsers are recognized and that a notification is sent.

  • Automated migration process for users: Users from a d.3 provider can be transferred to the user management app through an automated migration process. This allows the d.3 provider to be replaced.
  • Managing administrative users: You can designate a provisioned AD group as a group for administrative users and maintain it in Active Directory. Previously, the group of administrative users was defined via the user management app, and new users had to be explicitly added to the group.
  • Administration interfaces for d.ecs identity provider: The administration interfaces for d.ecs identity provider have been redesigned.
  • Extended recording of login activities: You can activate extended recording of logins for the last 30 days in the login activities.
  • Visibility of users: You can restrict the visibility of users for other users.
  • Resetting software: You can now reset the software to a specified restore point in d.velop software manager.

Improved onboarding

The content of our tutorials and the onboarding process for new users have been significantly improved with the help of e-learning and a playlist for the tutorials (please note: our tutorials are currently only available in German). This makes it easy to get started with our product world. You can also benefit from the following offerings and improvements:

  • Guided tours for new features: Learn about new features or improvements by taking a short tour directly in our systems. This makes getting started quick and easy.
  • Help widget for more information: In the help widget, you will find new links in one central location. Add the widget to your dashboard and take a look at our help offerings.
  • Improved accessibility: Accessibility has been significantly improved in one category for users of our document management system and now receives the top rating of “very good” in all categories.
  • Articles on current releases and release calendar: Our articles and comprehensive release calendar provide you with all the important information about a current release. Minor changes can be found in the changelog.

Our migration tool d.velop cloudshift for documents enables you to migrate from on-premises systems to the cloud faster and more easily. The migration tool is not part of d.velop documents, but can offer you many advantages for cloud migration.
