After a successful beta phase with several migrated systems, we have officially released d.velop cloudshift for documents. With d.velop cloudshift for documents, you can quickly and easily migrate documents and dossiers from your d.velop documents system for on-premises to a d.velop documents cloud system. With the user-friendly interface, you can carry out the necessary mappings and start and monitor the migration process. The documents and dossiers are uploaded using a connector in the source system.
In the following video, we show you an example of a migration with d.velop cloudshift for documents (German language only):
d.velop cloudshift for documents includes the following functions:
- Migrating exported documents and dossiers to the cloud
- Assigning categories, properties, users and groups for each user interface
- Validating document and metadata to avoid migration errors
- Automatic correction of frequent migration errors at the click of a button
- Automatic reporting for full traceability of the migration
- Monitoring and controlling the progress of the migration (locally and via the cloud)
Technical structure
You can find d.velop cloudshift for documents as a cloud app that you can book via the d.velop store. In the app, you can carry out the necessary mappings from your source system to your target system, as well as configure and start the migration.
The migration is done by a connector that is available for download in the app. The connector is a single executable EXE file on the application server. This means that fewer migration requirements and less time are needed. As a result, the application server is sufficient and the usual steps such as installation, control of administrative authorizations or configuration of firewall settings for external access are no longer necessary.
The connector migrates the documents to the d.velop documents cloud via the migration API and transmits status information at regular intervals. This also enables external progress monitoring and error identification.
