Our new release policy has proven itself in everyday use. With the Continuous, Current and Annual release forms, you can update your software exactly when it suits you and your organization best. And all this remains secure, quality-assured and simple. Switching to a different channel has also become easier, allowing you to benefit from new features quickly if needed.
Discontinuation of old software components
Below you will find a compact summary of the most important discontinuations:
- End of support for version 8.1 reached: Support for version 8.1 ends with the release of the Annual, including for security issues. Patch support was already discontinued on December 31, 2023.
- SOAP webservices (d.3 web webservices): Support for the SOAP based interface for the d.3 API (d.3 web webservices) will end by Current 2024.Q1 or Annual 2024. You can find more information here.
- d.3 smart explorer: Support for d.3 smart explorer will end by Current 2025.Q1 or Annual 2025. You can find more information here.
- d.3 API and associated access interfaces: Support for the d.3 API and all access interfaces will end by Current 2025.Q1 or Annual 2025. Find more information here.

Update paths
You can update from versions from the Current feed and from Annual 2022 to Annual 2024. You can update all versions of d.velop documents (on-premises) to Annual 2024 as long as the version is under maintenance. Below you will find more information on how to plan your update:
- Current feed: Your system is generally ready for the update. If you are using the Current 2024.Q1 version, you will already benefit from the new features and improvements included in the Annual. This means that it is not absolutely necessary to change the update channel.
- Annual 2022: Your system is generally ready for the update. Check the information on discontinuations, special features and frequently asked questions in advance. Depending on your system environment, you may need to make further preparations. We will be happy to support you and plan the update with you.
- Versions without maintenance: Feel free to contact us. We will develop an individual update path together with you.
Make it cloud
If you are looking for an alternative, you may consider switching from on-premises to the cloud. Using the cloud offers many advantages, e.g:
- Always up to date: The software is updated automatically and you benefit directly from new functions.
