We are pleased to present the highlights of the current release for 2025.Q2. This article will give you an overview of new features, important changes and further information.
In the second current of 2025, the focus was placed on the following topics in addition to the general highlights:
- The discovery phase for the d.velop Summit 2025
- The support for the migration of local users and documents with the d.velop cloud migration tool
- The provision of d.velop documents in the regulated cloud

Highlights
The possibilities of d.velop software manager for updating and maintaining d.velop documents have been extended. Installation with the full range of functions of the selected edition is now easier to implement. Viewing the update history and creating recovery points has also been improved.
In addition, you can now set up temporary user shares. You can temporarily share user accounts with members of the administration or support staff in order to receive targeted support.
In authorization management, you can now restrict the visibility of user accounts by department. This is particularly interesting for user groups who should not have a complete overview of all users in the product and when selecting other users.
Other exciting functions
Displaying comments in the viewer
As a member of the administration, you have the option of displaying comments in the viewer that have been marked as non-public in d.3 smart explorer. The configuration in the display area can be used to activate this.
Write protection for comments
Members of the administration can now activate and deactivate write protection for comments.
New image formats in d.velop documents
The image formats for display in d.velop documents have been extended by e.g. JPG and TIFF.
Activating this function – How it works
- Open the file appsettings.json from the installation directory of the viewer.
- Add the following expression: "TRANSFORM_IMG_TO_PDF": true
- Save the file.
- Restart the process for the viewer in d.3 process manager.
Easier task management
The column layout of the various task overviews (e.g. own task lists, groups, responsibility rule) is now saved locally in the browser for each task list. This makes it easier for you to manage your tasks.
