We are pleased to present the highlights of the current release for 2024.Q3. This article provides you with an overview of new features, important changes and further information.
Installation
There are the following updates and new features during installation
- Web client: You can now install the web client via d.velop software manager. You can find further information in the article d.velop documents web client (formerly d.3one) from current version 2024.Q3 available in d.velop software manager.
- PDF viewer: You can now install the PDF viewer via d.velop software manager. Simply select the package and the product PDF-viewer under Viewer. As of Current 2024.Q4, the PDF viewer is part of the product d.velop documents web client (d.3one) in d.velop software manager.
Logging and repositories
There are the following updates and new features for logging and the configuration of repositories:
- Filtering of log files: You can now filter in the log files, which especially facilitates the search for personal data.
- Feature “d.3 Repositories” now in the configuration: The widget d.3 Repositories for setting up repositories is now part of the configuration. You can find further information in the article d.velop documents On-Premises: The widget “d.3 Repositorys” has been moved.
Local editing
There are the following updates and new features for local editing:
- Setup: The setup has been completely revised. This allows your administration to take over the update management for you.
- Automatic updates: You can now deactivate the automatic update of the software if required.
- File names: File names with non-permitted characters are now handled so that the file names can be used under Windows. In addition, the file names for downloading now match the file names in d.velop documents.
- Language selection in the settings: You can now change the language in the settings dialog.
- Integrated browser: The integrated browser has been changed from Chromium to Microsoft Edge.
- Option “Start with Windows”: The Start with Windows option has been moved from the context menu to the options dialog.
Inbox
There are the following updates and new features for the inbox:
- Blocking DRM-protected items: If you are the administrator for d.ecs content crawler, you can now block DRM-protected objects in the configuration. Deactivate the respective profiles during an update. Add the rule Do not archive DRM/SMIME encrypted e-mails. Activate the profile again after the update. Also change this behavior for client-side saving in the groupware configuration.
- Filtering e-mails: You can now use a new rule to filter e-mails in Microsoft Exchange by file size in kilobytes.
Dashboard
There are the following updates and new features for the dashboard:
- 9-dot menu: You can now switch to other features more easily via the 9-dot menu. You can also mark frequently used features as favorites. You can find further information in the article New functions in the 9-dot menu.
- Jump widgets: You can now create jump widgets using the Dashboard app.
Infrastructure
There are the following updates and new features for the infrastructure:
- Confirming API keys: When your administration generates an API key for you, you will be notified. You can confirm or reject the API key.You can find further information in the article Confirming API keys.
- Automated migration process for users: Users from a d.3 provider can now be transferred to the Usermanagement app using an automated migration process. This allows the d.3 provider to be replaced. Users in the identity provider app (IDP) are also required, including for the use of the Task app.
- Management of administrative users: You can now name a provisioned AD group as a group for administrative users and maintain it in the Active Directory. The group of administrative users was previously defined via the Usermanagement app and new users had to be explicitly added to the group.
Search and storage
There are the following updates and new features for search and storage:
- Saved operations and templates: In the Personal space feature, the titles of the Saved search operations and Saved storage templates tabs have been shortened to Search operations and Storage templates. This adjustment only applies to the new operating concept.
- Filtering in the “d.3 Repositories” feature: When you create new connections to a d.3 repository, you can now filter by the ID of a group using Visible for.
Processes and tasks
There are the following updates and new features:
- Extension of the Public APIs: With the extension of the Public APIs for processes and tasks, you can e.g. create your own overview pages. Among other things, you can search for tasks and retrieve information on an explicit task.
- Planned tasks: You can now create tasks that will only become relevant at a later date.

Mobile devices
d.velop mobile has been using a new interface for the delivery of push notifications since June 20, 2024. If you have not yet done so, please update d.velop mobile.
